What is the guarantee or ROI on our services?
Ethical grant professionals cannot guarantee success or awards. While one of our biggest contracts saw a 40x return on investment from a $50,000 annual retainer, we cannot guarantee anything.
Your overall success depends on what you have accomplished so far as an organization, how long you have been operating, service data on who you served, a clear mission, an explanation of why you do it, and success stories of what you have done.
It also depends on the effort and strategy you put into building and curating a network of opportunities.

Is it true new nonprofits can't get funding?
We have worked with multiple startup nonprofits to develop them and get funding.
It's difficult to get funded as a new organization, but not impossible.
If you are in the 1-3 years of operations stage, there are grants just for you.
Yes, there are also grants you will be inelligible for based on operating budget and years of 990's.
You should track these anyways and start developing a relationship with the funder. Send them a project update or an annual report once a year.

What is your grant research process?
Grant Research Fund Mapping processes generally take 60 days or are ongoing with retainer contracts.
First, we go through a client onboarding process to fully understand what you do, your processes, your grant readiness, and how developed your project or programs are.
This includes a portfolio review of at least the last 3 years of grant applications, win or lose, file access and transfers of necessary documents, and a recorded Kickoff meeting up to 90 minutes to go over our Project Mapping toolkit.
Next Step: We develop the base keyword search algorithm in Instrumentl to create your master grant calendar tracker.
Then we find, sort, and vet grants based on the following criteria for eligibility fit:
- Award Amount
- Geolocation of residency and project locations
- Funder eligibility requirements
- Annual Operating budget
- Age of your organization
- Service niche and Funder priorities for giving
- Match or reimbursement funding
- Grant reporting requirements
- Staff Capacity to implement the award
Outside of Instrumentl, we research Private Funders, City, County, State, Federal, and International ( if applicable), level grantors that fit your service niche.
After the Kickoff meeting, we prefer to set a check-in meeting every two weeks to discuss promising leads. This ensures the research is on track for what you envision your organization needs.
The Final Funding Map deliverable is a custom market analysis of available funding opportunities that matches your needs and eligibility details for the next 18 months.
Do you work on commision, equity, or give refunds?
All Planet Grants team members work within the GPA standard of ethics for grant professionals.
It is unethical to be compensated for grant development work only as a percentage of award wins.
We consider writing for equity or sweat equity on a case-by-case basis.
No refunds will be given by anyone working for Planet Grants.
Planet Grants works within industry standards and is licensed and insured as a business consulting and writing company. There will be no refunds or credits for work already done by anyone in the company for clients of Planet Grants. Work deposits are required as a show of good faith with our company that you are invested in the process and to support our independent contractors as they provide the standard of work we require.
